Our man Pricken

Fia died almost one month ago.
Not having her in my life has been difficult. :(

There are still cats around here, though.

"Fisan", my landlords cat is still around, but she's a real original!
She want to cuddle, but all of a sudden she bite or claw you!
I don't trust her. :)

And then we have a very special boy that we named "Pricken" (Spot).

He was most likely abandoned when he was not kitten enough or fun enough for some stupid ape family kid & thrown out a car! (There was a newsalert about a cardboardbox at the side of the road near here, which had held an animal inside it, but had made hole to escape it).
Was it  him? He definitely knew about people, though.

He regulary came to our yard after Missy died (the Queen of our garden) summer 2020.
She was fierce & held off any invader, until she was run over by a car just outside our door... :(
Missy was my landlord's cat, but she was so sweet & hanged out with me so much i thought her as my family.

We gave him food & he returned everyday. He knew about humans, but not enough trusting us now.
If he had been born wild, he wouldn't act like he was doing when we spoke to him & approached him.
He did not trust us enough, so he ran away if we got too close.

He was absolutely abandoned!
We captured him in a trap december 2020.

We guess he was around 3 years old when we captured him.

Sadly, he had to be an outdoor cat, because my landlord is stupid!
Pricken could not move into my house because Fia was so aggressive towards other cats...
Personally, i'd never let a cat run wild. (They're an invasive species!)

Pricken turned out to be very friendly after he adjusted to his new home.
I love him. He is now part of my family. I care very much about him.

Yet, he is an outdoor cat & my landlords house is what he call home, and there's no Indoorcats in that household because my landlord is old fashioned (he's just 1 year older than me).... /sigh

Today... Today was a heavy day.
Pricken have a GPS around his neck so we can track him live.

At around 10-11:00 this morning it stopped moving.
I was asleep to 17:00 today because i was so drunk this friday night... So i didn't know.

Me & my mom went out and got out there towards where the GPS was transmitting, which was still Live.

Barely 100 meters away from his home, i crawled up into som thorny bushes, just 2 meter away from the gravelroad we use everyday, i found the GPS & patches of his black and white furr laying around it!

....

.............

My first thought?
A bigger predator took him!

I could not see any other furr other than his around the site!

He DOES fight neighbouring cats regularly but i found it odd that there were no other furr there.
I think he got his arse kicked!

This knowledge + not checking in for 10 hours, as he alwasys come home every 2-3 hours, i expected the worst.

I got out every hour this evening, calling his name, wanting him to show up, but, nothing. :(

3 hours ago i heard a thump.
I instantly went up & opened the door.

Yep, there he was!
He had been sleeping at the roof of my house!
Yeah, we know Missy did go up there to sleep & Pricken did that too, but we actually checked earlier in the evening if he could of been there, but he was not!

So he went up there afterwards!
Not sure WHY he would do that before having dinner? (No, a mouse is not dinner)

I think he got his arse kicked by a neighbouring cat and got depressed. (They probably had a "stare contest for hours).

I am so glad i heard him jump down from my roof & i embraced him when he came to me! :D
He's safe now!

Gosh, i wish i didn't need to worry whenever he go out...
